A few words before we post the cast list:
We are so very proud of each and every one of you that auditioned! We know that you put yourselves out there. We know that you worked very hard. We know that some of you are going to be sad when you see that you didn't make the cast!!
Please know that you are loved. Please be proud of yourself for trying. Please know that you were up against some really tough competition. Our decisions today were VERY difficult at times!! It took us 3 1/2 hours after callbacks today to put together this cast. There were a lot of great discussions between the directors. We do not take this lightly!! Please know that the decisions were made by all five of the directors. Not one of us had more say than any other director, it was truly a team decision. There were times that we didn't all agree, but we worked to figure it out.
Whether or not you make the play, we ask that you be good sports!! If you make the cast, please do not gloat or be cruel to anyone who didn't make it! Likewise, if you don't make the cast, please don't be mean to the kids who are in. We have already had some drama over the callbacks. It makes us sad and upset when we see kids hurt each other over this.
We would also like to remind parents the same thing. Please don't say mean or hurtful things about other children. You were not in the auditions. You do not know how these kids did in their auditions. If your children don't make it, please take the high road and be kind! We are not trying to hurt them intentionally.
If they don't make it, it came down to 3 things:
1. Singing off pitch.
2. Singing so soft we couldn't hear them.
3. No character.
Please also remember that the directors are volunteering all of our time to direct this show. We have each donated over 10 hours just this week for this show. We do this because it combines our passions: kids and theater.
We are so grateful to be at Pony Express with the best kids in the world!! The cast list will be posted in a couple of hours. :)
