We are experiencing a REALLY BIG PROBLEM this year: ABSENCES!!!
When I called role yesterday at rehearsal, there were 20 people missing---- TWENTY. A few straggled in after role was called, but we were still missing 15 and then had 3 kids leave early. This is a huge problem because now we have to reteach not only one scene, but two. We were working both Be Our Guest and Gaston yesterday.
IT IS NOT ONLY IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO BE THERE, IT IS NECESSARY!!!
One student missed because of soccer, a couple are on vacation, there were doctors appointments and birthday parties.
All these excuses add up to one thing: time wasted.
It is becoming exceedingly frustrating for all of us, students included. We are way behind where we need to be. There is no way we can pull this show off with this many kids absent.
Please arrange your schedule around rehearsals.

we have more than 60 cast members that's 1/3 with 20 gone. well at least some came in late. but that still is a lot.

That is a lot of people missing! WOW!
that's frustrating to me as a mom. taylor and i both will be missing a trip to california the end of february because SHE chose to be in the musical, therfore missing the trip. we knew it, and we're okay with it, but it's frustrating because we are sacrificing. it's not fair other parents aren't on board.
Thats a big problem!!
